Initial Creation Date: Jul. 4, 2021
Published: Jul. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If they really wanna go for it this is how it could look like. A franchise d-man in Hamilton. top 5 in the league. Olofsson to get more secondary scoring. I love the dude. Watched him play in Frolunda back in Sweden. I think this team can do some damage

Andersen signs a 1 year to prove it deal. Oilers should get pretty decent goaltending out of him. Smith should be reliable aswell.

  1. Koskinen, Mikko
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Staal gave Detroit a 2nd on 5.7 mil so this is more than fair
2.
EDM
  1. Olofsson, Victor
Additional Details:
Olofsson signs a 6 year 5m aav contract that kicks in 2022. Im a big beliver in him and he can put up 25 goals in his sleep. Playing with Leon and Connor he puts up 30-35 goals and givesa you 50+ points no questions asked, I think Buffalo cannot turn down this lucrative offer. No way Olofsson stays in Buffalo anyways.
BUF
  1. Lavoie, Raphael
  2. 2021 1st round pick (EDM)
3.
EDM
  1. Eriksson, Loui
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (VAN)
  3. 2022 5th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
We have the capspace to afford him for 1 year and this isn't a huge asking price. Benning needs to do this to get Pettersson and Hughes signed. He can keep his players, 1st and 2nd rounders we only want some small pieces. I think he says yes instantly. We get a solid 2-way guy that can be a leader in the lockerroom and he is a great meme.

  1. 2021 7th round pick (EDM)

  2. 2022 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
I think this is fair. Not that big of a contract and can be used in a 4th line

Why not use that $6M from Eriksson elsewhere? Sign someone so Russel isn’t in the top 4. A top 9 winger so if someone is hurt there isn’t a huge top 6 hole. Andersen might need $500k to $1M more, but between him and Smith hopefully someone can win 4 of 7 games. Very generous for Olofsson, but I like him too.

Oilers aren’t going after Dougie, Nurse needs a extension and that deal makes it impossible to resign him

You must of hit your head if you think Edmonton would trade for Eriksson we already have Neal’s contact and we don’t have cap space for Eriksson plus the guys not even capable of playing in the NHL anymore

You want to go for the cup, yet you have three utility players playing on the 3rd line and another two playing on the 2nd pair. Also, are getting little in return while using valuable cap space on a useless player. Definitely not optimal.

Olofsson is an RFA, so saying that there’s no way he stays with the Sabres is really misleading. If he was a UFA, different story.

That said, I don’t think Olofsson is the player you think he is. He’s a PP specialist and is a horrible 5v5 player. You don’t want him on your top 2 lines.

Buffalo isn't going to do that. Eichel, Reinhart and Risto have expressed that they are unhappy in Buffalo and might be traded. So Buffalo trading Olofsson isn't very likely.

I like olofsson a lot, thats a pretty solid return though. I think you would be very happy with him. Honestly, the only forwards that will be worth watching this year for buffalo are olofsson, arttu ruotsalainen, and cozens.
