Would getting a banged up Tarasenko be like getting Subban on the way down or can it be seen as weaponzing cap room? How do people feel?

East no from the Oilers, he's not as bad as people think he is. If they retained 1.5 mil on Koskinen they could get a 5th for him from someone.

If Tank is healthy, that would be a steal.

I think that is the big risk. I don't mind spending the money on him while we have it for the next two year window, but what will the cost be for that risk.

I think Koskinen is pretty much just a cap dump still at a cap hit of $3mil. I don't think a 2nd for $4.5 mil of cap space is necessarily terrible as long as there's an actual plan to use the cap space more effectively.

Well that is what I am trying to find out from STL fans that aren't wearing too thick of blue glasses. I don't know why STL is dealing him beyond not believing he will be the same after the injury, which in itself would be why his value would be far lower on a 30-40g scorer.

There's a reason why so many people want him on their team but want to throw out he has a bum shoulder. It makes no sense. What does make sense is that no one realistically expects his production to decline considerably and they want to get him at a steal. He's a top 6 forward in just about any teams lineup and his NTC blocks just about any deal for him. So I wouldn't expect any deal to happen with him to New Jersey

Tarasenko's value is pretty much impossible to gauge at this point - which is why it's weird/concerning to read that the Blues might be shopping him. No one should be interested in paying a premium for a guy coming off consecutive shoulder surgeries, only playing 30-something games in 2 yrs. And the Blues shouldn't be dumping his contract to sign another big money deal on another aging player - got too many of those as it is. They should just keep him and see what they can get out of him this season. Judging by his willingness to go the WC's, I think Tarasenko really wants to get back to game speed and he understands that it's going to take time/reps. Unless they're going to trade for a star player on a big contract, I see no reason for the Blues to be shopping him.
