Konecny is pretty good, I don't we can get him considering Schmidt is valued at less than a third

A lot more needs to be going to Philly. No way Philly sends a promising young goal scorer for a player they could have easily traded for last offseason. The Canucks barely gave up anything for Schmidt. If the Flyers were interested they could've blown that out of the water. TK is coming off a bad year, but he still has a lot of upside and promise in his game that is worth a lot more than Schmidt.

That's not Schmidt's actual value. Vegas had to move Schmidt very quickly after signing Pietrangelo because they were like 10M above the cap and accommodated Schmidt's request to go to Vancouver. It was a quick call to one team, not actual trade discussions.

Schmidt requested to go to Vancouver and Vegas had to move him quickly because they were over the cap by a lot after signing Pietrangelo. No other team had the opportunity to bid on Schmidt, otherwise the 3rd would have been a 1st+ pretty easily.

Not really going to deny some of these points are true, but Schmidt being worth a 1st rounder, much less a 1st+ is just false! ITs an extreme over-value on your part.

I'd agree 1st plus is a lot. He is a top 4 dman under a good contract though. Can't be much less than that can it?

I think he's somewhere at a 2nd rounder + 2 way bottom 6 type. Don't think Philly is a match. Especially if TK is the desired return. TK can be traded for a defenseman with a much bigger impact than Schmidt.

TK def is out of the question I would say unless Van is adding. TK''s value is top 15 pick. Lindblom or Laughton could be close though.

I don't think Schmidt requested to go to Vancouver, where did you hear this? From his interviews he was blind sided by the trade as he asked McCrimmom if he was going to trade him, where the GM said no, then few days later he was moved. But after the trade several other GMs where surprised as they would have given more if they had known of his availability. Anyway as to the trade I think more would have to be given up. What, hard to say but it would have to be expanded with Gost coming back and another player F and pick going there. I don't see a fit with Philly for Konecny
