Description

According to The Athletic, the Blues GM says they don't want picks or prospects for Tarasenko indicating they want players in return. We don't need that 30th 1st round pick so I figure we could give Drouin (top 6 forward), Chariot (Top 6 D), Byron (fast Depth forward), and the 30th overall pick for him. Savard is a Quebec-born big defenseman that would be a fan favorite in Montreal, Lehtonen was the top KHL defenseman before joining the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs gave him very little opportunity and as a result, he was traded to Columbus where it was the same story. Idk why neither team used him. I wouldn't mind the Habs picking him up for cheap money.

Drouin is only a top-6 forward IF he can play!!!! As far as anyone knows, he has decided to take up mushroom farming in the Laurentians. I hate to admit it but the Habs don't have good enough players to make a deal for Tarasenko.

That is a seriously weak LD situation. Why not spend the $4M on a decent UFA?

Tarasenko could be interesting for the Habs, but his cap hit is just too big. As much as I like to see the Habs win their trades, I'm pretty sure the Blues' GM would be skinned alive if he made that deal.

I don't think that deal would fly with the Blues fans but IF the GM did agree I would like the Habs to somehow add Dunn to the deal lol

Because Tarasenko will be getting paid 9.5 mil the first two years of his contract because the blues only paid him 5.5 mil the last two years while he has been injured. That's a huge reason Tarasenko wants out of St. Louis.

He listed 10 teams he'd play for and Montreal was one of them...

So that doesn't mean Blues are going to get absolutely worked over with spare parts in a deal

And btw Drouin WANTS to play for us but the stress of playing in front of his hometown team got to him. It was affecting his game. He was great for Tampa but slowly decreased as soon as he joined the Habs. He had 53 points in 73 games for the Lightning. Still a great player.

Nah they listed 10 teams he'd be interested in joining and the Habs were one of them

Plus he literally just requested a trade so I mean out of the 10 teams mentioned, I'd say we have a pretty good shot at getting him.

Where did you see the 10 teams were listed ? Just asking because I haven't seen it. Would be awesome if he actually did put montreal on his trade list lol
