Reportedly Oilers and Larsson already have agreed upon a deal. But even before, it was almost 100% sure that he stays. I think he even said it (which doesn't mean anythin I know).

Signing guys like Haula and Granlund to mult-year contracts while hitting the cap ceiling is a mistake. They're gonna need money to extend Couturier, Giroux, Farabee (this will be a huge raise), Frost, and Allison next season and will have almost no money to do so with this setup

Yep, they will sign Larsson after the expansion draft, therefore not forcing Edmonton to have to protect him.
