Honestly if they move Jack to the Ducks it's probably going to look more like
Zegras
Comtois
1 st 2021, 1st 2022.
Sabres want the equivalent of four 1st for him.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks that buffalo won't get nearly as much as they want.

Then they probably won't trade him. Top 5 center, with 5 years left.

This is probably the only chance the ducks have at getting him. Once his no trade kicks in I doubt they will be on his list of teams.

But the problem is that they have to trade him and everyone knows that. That, his diva-ness and slinky neck is really reducing his value. Buffalo is in a really tough spot here.

Thoughts @Dutchies?

I don't think they necessarily have to trade him. From what I have read from Dreger and Freedman is that the disconnect between Eichel and Sabres is over the handling of the neck surgery.

Eichel wants experimental surgery that has a much faster recovery. Where the Sabres want him to to take the normal approach of rehab, and then surgery if needed. But most teams appear to agree with the Sabres approach to the surgery.

I believe Eichel does want out. Why would anyone be happy playing for the Sabres currently. But after exploring trades the past few weeks, and it being leaked that the price is just to high "the equivalent of four 1st Rd picks". Personally I think Eichel plays for them again next season, and once he shows he is still the same player, then they trade him for max value.

Sorry for the long text. I just like talking about this type of stuff.

I think that you are right. Eichel is at low value point now given reputation and neck. He needs to show he can play and then Buffalo will have a bigger market for him next summer.
