Doug Armstrong declines, he wants a 1st round pick for Vince Dunn and will get it.

I think we would be more interested in JBD or Thomson

Well he’s definitely an early 2nd better than Brannstrom. But Brannstrom is only 22. I guess his potential is the player Dunn is now.

I don’t think STL wants all those tiny D-men though. Already having Krug and Perunovich. Dunn’s QO is only 1.8M too. He’s a discounted, young 2nd pairing D-man, that plays both LHD and RHD. Plays the PP and well too.

Sens fans are so in love with their prospects and draft picks though. They like prospects and the draft process more winning or putting the best team on the ice and start competing and being competitive now.

I would rather have Brannstrom alone honestly, he’s got higher upside and his development is on track to reach it at this point. This is also significantly more value than the late 1st they wanted and didn’t get for Dunn, Brannstrom alone has more value than a late 1st

No offence to Dunn and his game but I’d pass. Brannstrom may never reach his potential but for the time being his ceiling is higher than Dunn’s. If he were to hit that ceiling with St. Louis is would be a monumental loss. That’s without mentioning the high 2nd.

If he was a RD then I think Ottawa considers it but with Chabot already there and Sanderson coming I’m not sure it makes too much sense to acquire a LD (even if they’re giving one up in Brannstrom).
