Trades
1.
TOR
  1. McCann, Jared
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (PIT)
2.
TOR
With the Rielly trade, this allows the leafs to protect Muzzin, Brodie, Dermott aswell as Kerfoot upfront. Forcing seattle to take Holl as the only viable option which I believe is the best case scenario.
    3.
    TOR
    1. Vanecek, Vitek
    Additional Details:
This trade allows washington to not lose vanecek for free. They get a solid middle 6 player at a reasonable cap hit. You could aslo make an argument that this makes moving kuzentov less of an issue on washingtons end even though kerfoot is NO WHERE the same as kuznetov.

Pretty big gamble moving Rielly and hoping to get Dougie though, right?

Very big gamble! I dont feel bad about Brodie on the top pair and maybe sign Brandon Moutour as a #4 as your backup plan.

Oh heck yeah seeing SPAR mentioned 🌠

IIRC it's not too different from WAR

    Just shifting the result perspective

Not a stat to be used SPARingly 😉

    But legit it's super good

Helps quantify how crazy good offensively 97 is

Can't see the caps making that trade. I expect them to just hold onto VV

YES SPAR is an awesome stat! Very under appreciated by most, or just not known. Also Jared Mccann is a beast!

Why would they? If they hold him Seattle will just take him for free. Unless you think that Samsonov will be left exposed? I dont see what your seeing.

For the Pens it is difficult to see them make that trade given they have 4 left shot D signed to NHL contracts next season and only 9 forwards signed. With Malkin missing at least half the upcoming season I don't see them moving a guy who has proven to be a quality center for another D and a 4th line forward.

This is fair, I really was having a hard time determining what you would need and what McCann's trade value is. Also, the pens are closer to the cap then I realized. What do you think you guys need and what would it take to get McCann?

Depending on what we lose in the expansion draft, I would say a scoring winger around the same age or a quality young right shot D (we have almost no true RD prospects).

That is a fair point. I do think he is the one left exposed but I also think there will be better options in goal for Seattle. I see Seattle taking sprong, sheary, schultz, dillon, jensen, or TVR.

However, if they are worried about seattle taking him I bet they trade him for a pick, maybe a 2nd or a 3rd rather than taking on more salary
