Description
Not going to happen but fun.

Caps take back a bad contract to get a potentially great young players.

I know MIN fans will lose their crap over this so I overpaid and added Lapierre into the deal, a potential 1C. His ceiling isn't as high as Rossi but the difference b/t the 2 is certainly worth losing a bad contract in Parise AND getting a 1C to play with Kap right now.

love Rossi but idk
a) if wild would trade him... bc he's (imo) their best prospect
a2) if they are willing to move him does that mean hes struggling to recover

Wild aren't going to do this, like at all.

There's zero interest in Kuznetsov. Rossi isn't being traded for Kuznetsov

There's definitely interest in Kuz from MIN, but yeah don't know if they do Rossi. Depends on how desperate they are. Could getting a big, bad contract off the books AND get a 1C in return be enough for Rossi? Who knows, doubt it.

This is just a really bad trade for the caps. The upside between Lapierre and Rossi isn’t negligible, but it’s not big enough to justify trading away a top line center for a cap dump of the same cap hit.

I could understand your point if Parise cap hit ruined the Caps but it doesn't. We can easily fit him. And we'd be shedding contracts the year after to make even more room. I'd say it's worth it to get Rossi who will be the next Brayden Point.

There actually isn't. it's not the 1st time this conversation is being had on here. There's been no reports of wild being interested in Kuznetsov because him, & Sean Monahan are players he hasn't been interested , or care to show interest in

Legit, wild beat writer hasn't brought up Kuznetsov once. Guerin likes good character players, not bad ones like Kuznetsov

One of the big insiders brought it. There's definite interest from MIN. Kuz character is fine. Dude got caught doing coke which about half league does anyways, he just got caught. Then he got Covid hanging out with roommates in a room. It's not like he's assaulting people or hitting up strip clubs and showing up to practice. Teammates love him. If Orpik loved him then everyone loves him.

Big insiders? Who ? Show it because I guarantee you if this was true wild beat writer Michael Russo would have gotten this, or reported this by now

Making a call which all GM's do is different than showing an interest

You know Kuznetsov missing game 1 of playoff fir being on covid protocols list a 2nd time

Then being benched for being late to meeting, & Washington wants to trade him

I'll have to look it up again, think it was Lebrun but I guarantee the link happens more and more as the expansion draft approaches.

Ovi has been benched for being late to a meeting. Marner was benched for being late to a meeting. It happens like a dozen times a season. Doesn't mean jack.

It actually does to wild. Bill Guerin was brought in to clean up wild lockerroom

Shipped out Eric Staal because he was too comfortable in Minnesota

Shipped out Greh pateryn because teammates, coaches didn't like him

Gave 3 years extension to Ryan Hartman, & Marcus foligno because they represent everything wild gm is

Parise benched for costing wild game in overtime

Can keep going

Still doesn't mean anything. Guess we won't know until a report comes out about it but until someone insider says "MIN does not want Kuzy" I'm going to assume a team that desperately needs a highly skilled top 6 center contacted a team that's willing to trade a highly skilled top 6 center.

Minnesota might be checking in on Kuznetsov (I wouldn't want him), but you're completely out to lunch if you think Rossi is going to be a part of the deal.

Like I said, probably not. But isn't out of the realm of possibility. MIN desperately needs a highly skilled top 6 center now and Rossi will probably need another year due to missing all of last season. Add on top of that Caps willing to take back a bad, long contract. I could see that but no way Caps are even offering it so we'll never know.

It's not a probably not thing, it's a definitely not.

Exactly, no way it's even offered by the Caps so it isn't happening.
