I do not like the trochek trade. The canes spent years looking for a 2C and they finally found one. If they were going to trade him it would need to be a much bigger return than a middle 6 winger and a mid round pick. The Tarasenko deal is tough because the canes are taking on so much cap, i know they get rid of gardiner but Tarasenko at full cap and 1/2 retained nino is alot of money. I dont hate the idea of getting tarasenko but my offer would exceed foegele and a 1st. Martinook is not getting 3.5 and he isnt going to get anything from the canes.

Wouldn’t classify this as “going for it”. The Troch trade is bad and makes the team much worse. The Tara trade is an overpayment given the risk in his health.
