Doubtful but this would be Mint

Created by: Habs4ever
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 9, 2021
Published: Jul. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tough decisions. Gally & Danault are awesome and I love them, but Gally got us Tkachuk and I replaced Danault with an even better faceoff guy in Glendenning at 60% & Evans is very close to Danault in regular season. The 4th line is bigger, younger and cost less. Savard would be good for Romi. Still have cap space to add. Obviously do not know who Seattle takes.

So I gather what we are going for here is a Toronto approach (strong top 6 wrak bottom 6 and ok D) instead of Tampa approach (strong everywhere).

Gally is from Alberta and he does have 2 x 30 goal seasons. Plus Sutter would love him, so I thought it would be a good trade. I added Kulak, could add a pick as well. I only thought of this today because I heard Tkachuk wants out of Calgary. I am fine with keeping Gally.

I have no idea who Seattle is looking at. Their puzzle will change several times, because of other teams and also MTL offering picks to protect certain players. Rather than speculate I will just wait until Seattle gets a player and go from there.

Gally is not getting moved as long as MB is in charge. Did you not see how emotional MB got during his presser when he announced the Gally extension? Gally is here until he retires or MB is fired.

Flames very very very easily decline this garbage trade. Tkachuk wants to stay in calagry so the flames have 0 reason to trade him and it would cost a massive overpay to get him. The offer would have to be Suzuki, Caufield, 2023 first and maybe more

not sure how you see that. I only added 1 D and he is a pretty solid player that just won a cup. Up front, the 4th line is big, solid, responsible and wingers love to hit. 3rd line, Toffoli is a sniper, Evans had comparable numbers to Danault during season, yet costs much less and Poehling had a good year in Laval. He has size, speed and players a 200 foot game. So in my opinion a very good bottom 6.

wow, usually I get along great with people from Alberta but you overvalue Tkachuk. Wow, I am stunned by what you are asking in return. Stunned!

Let me know when Poehling, Evans, Crouse and Hathaway hit the same level as the Tampa wingers? They are more on par with the Toronto bottom 6 than the Tampa bottom 6 except they would be younger. Also the D was ok but not great during the season in the playoffs they stepped up but still not enough to stop Tampa.

yes I saw all of that, which is why I prefaced by saying doubtful, but I was really impressed by both Caufield and Anderson this year, then I saw Gally only getting 2 ginos in playoffs, so I thought, man if you can land Tkachuk to shore up the left side to play with Suze and Goal Caufield, I thought that would make a very dangerous line.

Tampa was 18 million over the cap. give 18 million extra to MTL in the last series and they add 2 to 3 more players. Tampa will lose several players by next season.

it was the first time I ever included Tkachuk. Its getting out that he doesnt see eye to eye with Sutter and wants out, So I just thought to give it a go for the first time.

Our offense dried up because 2 of our top wingers had pulled groin (Toffoli and Gallagher) and Gally returned too soon from a broken hand hence the reason he only got 2 goals as he could barely shoot or skate. Have you ever had a pulled groin it's painful as hell and take months to heal even for a young player.

if you don’t think tkachuk is good enough to make a good offer for then clearly you don’t value him accurately, and would be better off without him right? we’ll keep our young star player, you keep your lovable veteran who even in his peak never came close to what tkachuk has already done (tkachuk’s career high in goals is one higher, and his career high in points is 23 higher, and he’s still improving, gallagher’s only gonna go down). kulak is a flames reject, we didn’t want him several years ago when we traded him for scraps, and don’t want him back, he still wouldn’t make our lineup

Ya. I'd say him or Evans if he's available because they will have too many goalies to choose from, which is never a bad thing.
