Leadership

Created by: Orts41

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2021
Published: Jul. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Rangers get some much needed leadership that was solely missing. They get a little grittier and address issues in the middle of the ice, especially with faceoffs. All of the changes also aren’t committed that it will hinder the next offseason. The Kadri deal may be off some, but with the on ice issues, I think it diminishes some of his value

Doesn't your leader have to stay away from being suspended repeatedly when he is most needed?

That’s a fair point. But I think with adding some of the other guys and a fresh start it could benefit him.

I think NYR just needs to continue to season the youth. 1 year of Kadri to lose a promising young C is a bad idea.

Why wouldn’t they? They get a more a rounded player and plus next season’s offseason is loaded with good centers in their prime

Again, you can make the argument both ways. I just think with the free agent class coming into next season and with one season to help down the middle with Kadri is a win/ win situation. I like Chytil a lot but this team needs to make some hard decisions about what to do with that bottom 6

Kadri doesn’t exactly have leadership qualities. So if you want to make this argument it would have to be around faceoff % and his abilities to draw penalties/pest abilities

I agree, he doesn’t but with the added guys I put on this team, I think it could help and a fresh start. But I do believe Kadri is the more rounded and like you said brings those intangibles that Chyitl and the rest of the team doesn’t have.

The upside is we get a top tier left wing while also keeping tarasanko happy. We can offer him the C and as we are pretty stacked on centers I like the move. We have a fading top 6 and I don't see how we can be competitive. I'd much rather feast and famine instead of decades of mediocrity and staying middle of the pack.

Trading your best player/talisman/1C for a 30 yo signed to a 5x11.6 is not going ot be healthy for the franchise. And removing Dad ends the whole "stacked on centers" thing. Kyrou and Thomas are fresh blood for the top 6, you're way too pessimistic... which is actually quite reasonable for a Blues fan, but still... snap out of it! grin
