Cheaper, but having it all in this years cap instead of broken into 2 years is a big deal. That 900K next season could be useful when signing Fox, Zibby, Kakko, Kravs..

and you know before after that Bergevin was linked to Deangelo should he get bought out. He was fully ready to give him a year or two deal instead of trading for Gustafsson

If you make this trade your basically telling the team you don't think they have any chance of winning the cup and are already getting ready for next season.
