See Yinz after the drafts

Description
Last post till both drafts. Stories vary on Geno's injury from just missing training camp to "hope he's back for the playoffs", so I split the difference. I think that the trades are fair and that this is a pretty balanced team. I'd like a better safety net at G but it is what it is.

Big pass from canes. Jumping up a few spots isn’t worth Geekie.

What would PIT need to add?

I mean he’s probably worth 4th straight up but he’s more valuable to the Canes than his fair value in a trade so I can’t see a deal like that happening unless you guys overpaid and gave like a 2nd or something which I know you wouldn’t do

I see him being like Andrew Mangiapane. I was trading for him years ago and I was roasted for it.

id love that but idk if his ceiling is quite that high. His type of game and cost is super valuable to the canes tho

Rangers have absolutely zero incentive to retain money on DeAngelo.

NO they don't. They can continue to bury him in the minors and pay his full salary (not talking cap) after the waived him and got no takers. They could buy him out and live with it for 4 more years. Here they at least get some assets and are done after this upcoming season.

this whole thing is so bad.

No one is paying anything for Deangelo. No one.
"Compensation for taking MP"..............you must be kidding.

4 years? Do you even know what youre talking about? A buyout would keep him on the books for 2 years, 383k this year, 883k next year.

Thanks for playing. Pick up your participation prize on the way out.

I get what you are saying. I have seen most if not all of your posts but I see you always see player for player value. You don't seem to get the cap value of players vs their abilities. That, unfortunately, cap is more important than talent. MP is a high 2m low 3m player but Rutherford signed him high. He then doubled down with Matheson. I'm not saying you are wrong but can a cap strapped team afford to have roughly 13m just on their LD? MP is the loose thread and everyone knows it. PIT is not dealing from a position of strength.

My bad on the 4 years. Was looking at several players and mixed them up. Doesn't change the outcome of AD for the NYR's.

they aren't paying anyone to take MP, FFS he would be a 2nd pairing defense man on like 20 teams.

What he is paying to get rid of Petterson is closer to what they would have to pay to get rid of Matheson. Anyways, he also misses the fact that Larmi is no longer Pens property. He is on his way back to Finland and won't be coming back to NA. Also the Pens would likely have to bribe someone to take Jankowski's rights. The best move with him, is to not qualify him.

people keep saying this about Matheson, they said the same things about Gudbranson too. It's just not true. There is a sever shortage of defensemen in the league. They would get a return for him, not give something up.......unless it's to seattle, who they would be paying not because of Matheson, but to keep them off other guys like Tanev.
