Instead of Eichel

Description
Eichel isn’t realistic considering our money situation.

I think Zacha or Dvorak are 2 better options. Ideally we don’t want to lose Dumba but we’re gonna have to get rid of him if we want to have any money to sign/ re-sign players over the next two years.

Guerin said in his press conference yesterday that the buyouts will open up spots for younger/cheaper players aka rookies. Considering Eichel would cost our best prospects and 1st round draft picks I don’t think that deal will go down, it just doesn’t make sense.

I don't think Zacha is who you think he is. I would hope Wild would get more for Dumba

He proved what he can do this year. I’m sure he would be even better playing with Kaprizov and Zucc. I get it was his breakout year but I still think he has potential to put up better numbers. Either way, Minnesota is gonna have to get rid of Dumba.

Because they won’t have any money to sign/re-sign players over the next two years unless we get rid of our bigger contracts.

Dumba comes off the books in 2 years and you’re going to need to give Zacha his pay day over that time…

Difference is, Zacha won’t be making Dumba type money. Also, we’re gonna have to sign/Re-sign around 6-7 players next year, maybe more depending on how this offseason plays out. If we only have in the ballpark of 8 million to do that, it’s gonna be very difficult to build a team that can contend.

I don't think you know who Zacha is

35 points in 50 games this year. 17 points in 16 games as a winger.

If Zacha has a monster year next to Kaprizov (likely), we would want a big pay day

I don't think the Devils would do the Zacha for Dumba swap

Not a centre. Plays better in the wing. And yeah I'd hype up Zacha too if it meant getting Dumba. I like where the Devils are headed... Only 1 more year of subban!

I see Greenway and Calen Addison.... Not crazy. Boldy will depend on where and how he plays this and next year to determine what his increase will be. All 3 *as of now* aren't commanding crazy big raises. Plus Wild have Rask coming off next year, and probably either hartman or Soucy picked by Seattle. I don't know why you'd pay them to take rask when centre's are what the wild lack and he's gone in 1 year anyway. I find it really hard to believe Guerin bought out Suter just to trade Dumba after protecting him. Unless it's for a big time C

If Zacha performs with Kaprizov, you either give the guy Dumba money with term or you give him slightly less money to walk to UFA. You save a bit of money but I don’t think it’s as much as you think.

This is true, but keep in mind that he did most of his scoring as a winger on Hischier's line.

18 pts in 17 games as a winger.
17 pts in 33 games as a center.

I don't think Devils would move Zacha for Dumba straight-up, maybe the 3rd is enough to entice them.
I'd ask for another piece or higher pick.

(Also don't think he is best fit as MIN's 1c)
