Kane is a cancer in the locker room.
Tomas Hertl is the better target

And that third line is a dumpster fire

Perfer to find a deal with no retention. 3x4 is too much to retain on a guy who has a fine contract. We paid a first and a prospect for him, so we should atleast be able to get that no retention.

Not at all. That 3rd line would be solid two way. Expect Mikheyev to bounce back this year after a snake bitten season. Engvall is the 2nd best player on the leafs at carrying it through the neutral zone. But this isn’t really about the 3rd line. I wouldn’t sign smith either. Just quick filler.

The locker room issue I get. It could certainly be an issue. But on ice he brings everything the leafs need in the top 6.

I get that. It’s a lot to ask. I know they are going to try to move him this off season and maybe someone else will take him at 5m, who knows maybe even the whole 7m.

Yeah that type of retention would probably double the guys value (3 mil ret. i mean)

That trade package could get the Leafs Conor Garland.
He would be the better option.

I despise the term cancer to describe a person. But yes he seems to be difficult in the locker room

If Arizona wanted to trade him no he could not bring what Kane does. He will also cost more than 4m.

Engvall has no roll being a starting number 3 c. He has done fine in a pinch and I like having him on the team for that roster flexibility with injuries or for line shuffling but he just isn't good enough.

He certainly is. One of the most effective lines we had last year was the zip line. Engvall is a magician in the neutral zone and easily skates through a trap.

Again though this is just about the trade. Not the lines. I like putting kerfoot up as top 6 winger. He is far better there.

Ok the fact that you referred to Engvall as a “magician”
Just destroyed any credibility you may have had.

Absolute magician through the neutral zone. Doesn’t even have to deke anyone out. I couldn’t care less what you think about my opinion.

Lol this is awful and yet you chirp other ACGMs
Worst bottom 6 in the league, bottom half goaltending
Bogo isnt coming back likely and definitely not at that price
Sharks laugh at that offer, they aren't retaining 3M for 4 full seasons

It was a trade, I just filled in the roster with ufa’s.

The value of the trade is why I put it out there. Kane has issues in the room. They need to move him out. More curious than anything.
