Ladd has a horrible contract that cannot be bought out.

He will cost you two 1sts if you want Detroit to take him off your hands.

Detroit got a 2nd for taking on Staal for one year and he was a player that we had use for.

This is a player that is useless for us and it's for two years.

The term makes him cost two 2nds and the fact that he isn't useful turns one of them into a 1st and the fact that the contract cannot be bought out turns the other one also into a 1st.

If you think that price is too high then Detroit is happy for you to keep him.
