Description

For whatever reason people are not reporting Montreal as part of the 10 teams Tarasenko said he would play for. If you read the original report found on the athletic (https://theathletic.com/2690474/2021/07/07/blues-winger-vladimir-tarasenko-requests-a-trade-per-sources-why-he-wants-out-possible-destinations-and-more/) Tarasenko actually did list Montreal as one of the 10 teams.
Even though Tarasenko is getting paid $5.5mil he is actually making $7.5mil because St. Louis didn't pay him $2mil for two years. The additional $2mil just won't count towards our cap hit.
Bertuzzi has been linked to the Habs and Devils, I think the Habs have the edge in that trade meaning they ultimately have a better chance of acquiring him over the Devils.

That is way too much money for Bertuzzi

Your note in the details about Tarasenko did not make sense. He has 2 years left $9.5M this year and $5.5M next year. I don't think actual salary matters that much to the Habs the AVV is more important

Regarding Tarasenko- that is just not true, Blues don't "have" to retain any salary. When they say retain salary, all that means is what it costs against the cap

You're right on Allen it is a two year deal i corrected my mistake, but we still say no as it's not a quality offer for Bertuzzi.

While it's true that Tarsenko is owed 9.5M for this season, the last year of his deal only owes 5.5M. It's 7.5M per average, just like his cap hit. So yeah, this entire portrait of his contract are just not correct. All of it.

Secondly, the Blues pass. Don;t want Drouin, don;t need Kulak.
