I would rather a veteran 4C from Ufa market but not bad.

The bottom six really lacks in defensive mindedness

Disagree with both points:
- DW has made it clear he wants a 3C, with McCann unprotected, this is the perfect opportunity to get someone who will be a really solid 3C rather than another horrible 4C getting killed at 3C.
- Chmelevski is very defensively minded, Leonard put up amazing defensive analytics last year as a rookie, I think Balcers can do much better defensively that what his role has suggested, and McCann has always been extremely good defensively, like 86th percentile for his EV def WAR.

This is exactly what I want. If Doug has any brains he’s already getting a Mcann deal ironed out

Im all for it. Definitely Groob. Kurz thinks Sharks are going to UFA for their 3C. I imagine contracts like McCann's are enticing and the price is probably steep. I'd imagine Pens would want Chmelevski.

I like this. Hopefully defense can be better this year with a new (hopefully better) goalie

The reason I brought up trading for McCann (again), is that he apparently won't be protected by PIT, and situations like this are exactly what DW has said he would wait for.

Wouldn’t be thrilled about moving a 2nd but I like it. McCann would be a solid pickup.

I'm now solidly pissed at DW, TOR lands McCann for dirt cheap, while SJ trades the second for... Adin Hill.

I mean there has to be a reason that not pitt nor tor are protecting him. As effective as he is at his great contract you'd think he'd be protected. The Sharks offseason is far from over.

TOR probably already arranged a side deal with SEA to not take him.
