According to Chris Johnston Price waiving his NMC comes with the contingent that he can not be selected to be traded to another team without his consent. IF Seattle selects him he is their goalie. So no this trade is not likely see link.

If he's taken it's either comming back to mtl (like an instant trade against prospects and picks for also cap retains) or he's staying in Seattle. He wants either of Mtl, or being close to his family in the West Coast

What an overpay for price. I am aware how awesome he was this year but nobody beats father time. I'd bet that over the next four years grubauer is the better goalie

Lol, I hadn’t considered the option of Seattle retaining his salary and sending him back to Montréal. Now that would be crazy.

Yea like I said in the trade post , Carey can decide with his NMC if he would waive it to go to Colorado ... would he ... who knows depends if he thinks him being an addition to Colorado would certainly put them the favourite to win the cup for aslong as him Nate and makar are on the team

I've made a team about that, because i thought about it and it would make a lot of sense

I honestly think that there’s a 0% chance that Price waives his NMC if he thought there was a possibility Seattle might take him. And Seattle might be the perfect destination for him if he weren’t in Montréal. No chance he waived his NMC again.

Except for going back to mtl, i don't see him traded in any other teams

I think that MB has a plan doing this, probably either forcing Seattle to either take him and his big contract, doing a deal that he's instant comming back with all of the cap ****stravanga, or they're just picking Fleure (so instead of loosing allen x)

Not worth it, no matter the retention Price's contract will age horribly. Plus, there are other cheaper options (Grubauer, Ullmark, etc) that wont have the same cap hit and the Avs don't have to give up anything other then cap to get them.
