There is not much money to spend after resigning Schultz and Dumdum. I was first thinking resign daley or someone of similar talent/impact for roughly 4 mil and trade schultz or recieve the compensation (at the 4.6 I signed him for it would be a First and a third), but I changed my mind.

With the lack of money, the pens are probably going have to rely on young guys to fill out the lineup. Sprong is ripping up the Q after returning from injury and will be able to challenge for a spot at the very least. Sundqvist has had some time in the NHL and is ready to take on a full time role, whether its 4C or taking over a similar role to kunitz on the wing.

One thing im not sure about is Sheary and what kind of contract he will get. Hes a guy that was undrafted, never had great expectations put on him, but produced very well (albeit with Sid mostly). This injury can only hurt his value. Given the cap situation I went short and relatviely cheap but Im curious what others think.

i think sheary is getting more than that so it might mess up the rest of your signings/cap hits.

Would Colorado really have interest in retaining salary especially for an unproven defenseman as the main target?

dallas ain't taking on salary and retention to have $12 m in goalie salary for two average goalies. duchesne only gets avs a cap dump, an Ahl guy, a 31st overall, but they get pouilet.
