Oilers Potential Roster With Rumours After Expansion Draft

Created by: ConnorMcJesus_
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 22, 2021
Published: Jul. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Made this after the Expansion Draft and the Reports that were put out by Edmonton Insiders.

Trade Reasons:

Kassian will be traded tomorrow for a 3rd or 4th. Good deal for Edmonton.

Get rid of Turris for anything.

Get anything for Stalock. Decent goalie who could be a backup.

Dump Koskinen's contract to a team who needs a backup and has cap space. Askarov should be ready after Koskinen's contract is done.

Trade Archibald anywhere for a 6th.

Oilers will most likely trade for Hyman's rights tomorrow. No more than a 7th.

Get a good 2-way depth forward like Acciari. Love him.

Line Reasons:

McDavid finally has a first line LW. Money is fine, term isn't great.

Keep the DRY line together.

Get Holloway into the Bottom 6 immediately.

Get a legit 3C. Oilers were interested in Granlund last off-season.

4th Line is High risk, High reward. They had insane chemistry in the minors and were arguably the best line in the minors. If it doesn't work out replace Benson or Marody with Shore.

Nurse and Bear played very well when together.

Savard is a good replacment for Larsson. Savard and Keith could be a very good second pair.

Bring Bouchard up. Him and Koekoek would be good. I'd rather Kulikov but it is unlikely he stays.

Get Ullmark. A legit starter who would be great in front of Smith.

Thoughts everyone?

BOS says no - they lost a D-Man today to the Kraken-puss, not a plugger like Lazar or Kuhlman or Freddy or Stud or Wags or...

I dont think I like any of the trades you made. Turris and Koskinen need untradeable, but if the other teams would do this then sure. I think Stalock and Kassian for Jarry is better than giving both up for basically nothing. I would rather we hold onto Archibald and Lagesson then trade them for a comparable player and scraps.

Ullmark contract is too expensive. He's like 3.5 mil at best. I like the Savard signing and i think the Hyman + Granlund signings are okay. I think Marody is assumed to already be gone, so maybe use more cap space on two more wingers and put Holloway in the minors.

Kassian is going to either NYR or BOS I'm calling it. There was a report saying Rangers might give up a 3rd.

Archival stays, Hyman for 5 years or no deal, no to Savard and Granlund. Re-sign Barrie for the offence with Nurse. Trade Bear to fill a need up front. Kassian gets you a better return. Puljujarvi will not play with McDavid this year.

If Holland could pull that off, I would be very happy. I'd hold onto Archibald though. Love the way he plays.
