It’s a move that a smart rebuilding team shouldn’t do.

We would still have most our core and seider and Raymond. Plenty of picks. This is not that bad a move. Jack eichel is a legit franchise 1C with many years of contract left.

Yes it is, the whole idea is to have Eichel as our 1C and Larkin has our 2C. How does this remotely benefit us?

I forgot that Buffalo would trade eichel for Danny dekeyser straight up.

Makes no sense.. Wings are looking to HELP & ADD TO LARKIN down the middle at centre not trade one for another..especially with eichel injury situation.. If wings go after eichel (not likely) they'll keep Larkin & move other pieces ..sorry . listen to Yzerman & insiders.. He wants a 1/2 C to help .. Shesh

You traded 3 core pieces for an upgrade on one of them. We still don’t compete after this and now we have less ammo to fill out a roster. Rebuilding takes patience, even Yzerman has said that since the initial press conference of him being announced as GM.

The problem is that you upgraded 1C at the cost of the only LD prospect with top paring potential (if he pans out, which is a coin flip at this point) and a likely lottery pick in either 2022 or 2023. The team still has massive holes.
Goaltending is a bit of a question mark with Ned (who is promising, but relatively unproven) and Cossa's still years out (if he pans out in the first place), best wingers in Raymond, Zadina, and potentially Berggren are still likely a couple years from being major impact players, We're not sure if Vrana's the star he was showing last season, or if he cools off a bit, and the defense still sucks. Hronek/Seider are good, but that's 2 RD with no sure-fire LD prospects coming up. I have hopes for Johansson, Viro, and McIsaac still, but I wouldn't hold my breath for them panning out into impact players yet. And we still don't have a 2C.
