Description
So far I think the off-season has been quite successful, signing Forbort (who will do quite well anchoring Clifton’s pair and will be some good old-fashioned grit) and Foligno, Haula, and Nosek as depth forwards. I think the final steps would be:

1) trade DeBrusk. As much as I like him as a player, he has gone stale in Boston, and is a very polarizing topic among fans. Best to deal him now, preferably for futures as that opens the door up to many more teams than trying to deal him for players to help win now. Free agency has enough of those.

2) 2 more Free Agents. We need to sign a veteran goalie and a top six center. Slim pickings for both as to who I’d want. Take a flier on Pius Suter, if you ask me. Looked great last year, still young, and we have Coyle, Haula, or Foligno to take over should he not be able to handle the workload. As for a goalie, I really like Ullmark. I’d be willing to overpay for him, as he’d make a great tandem with Swayman and should be easily tradable if Rask returns before the deadline.

Would Debrusk plus a 1st OR 2nd round pick to Seattle be enough for Dunn? I would love that to be our final move besides signing Krejci and Rask (which are both rumored to be handshake deals just not official yet)

Not sure. I think Seattle may view Dunn as a piece that they could turn into a legitimate star on their team (similar to Theodore in Vegas). Assuming that Boston’s first would be late, I don’t know that they’d be willing to move such a valuable piece for that package. I sure would be happy to see them make that deal though

So you think the report that krejci had agreed to terms was bogus?

Hadn’t seen it before I posted. Scratch the Suter idea.

Dang, they seems like logical trade partners and a good landing spot for DeBrusk. Maybe if they moved Lemieux it would work? He doesn’t look like he’ll be needed with that forward group. Maybe even Wagner too. With all of your youth, they could be expendable

Maatta would need to be heading the other way.
