I would be surprised if Zary isnt there

If you dont mind taking back cap i think Boston would pay well for Monahan. Prospect + 1st + DeBrusk + Moore

Just trade Eichel directly to Boston.

What would you say our top 4 prospects are? Pelletier Zary Wolf Coronato?

Would you rather:
Sam Reinhart at 7mm x 5 years for 2022 (top 10 protected) 1st and Dustin Wolf or;
Jack Eichel (severely injured) at 10mm x 5 years for Monahan, Zary, Dube and a (unprotected?) 2022 1st.
I know which one i'd choose, and its not even remotely close.

With what cap space or assets? You do realize the cost difference between Monahan and Eichel is massive right? (Coming from a Flames fan who defends Monahan a lot)

Eichel without question, he can be healthy by the start of the season if he gets the surgery in the next couple weeks

3.75M is a small amount to pay for the difference between Eichel and Monahan. One guy is a franchise C. The other guy is a 2C.

I mean you guys gave Coleman half of what Eichel is making and Boston gave Foligno 3.8M

Consider the relative value though. Reinhart can play 1/2 center or right wing, costs approx 3mm less, and you don't give up Dube, Zary, Monahan (who you could then flip for at 1st ++).

In a vacuum you would take Eichel for sure (assuming he can have a successful surgery and return as an elite player), but we don't live in a vacuum.

I dont think you understand how good Eichel is, maybe go listen to the most recent 31 thoughts where they interview one of Jacks doctors about the surgery he wants to do

Ok assuming they arent moving any of the players they juat signed because that would obviously look horrible PR wise, what is a "fair" package for Eichel to Boston that fits under the cap? Note that Buffalo has been very vocal about not wanting to trade him within the division too, so add compensation for that too

Well if Boston gets him he'll probably stay there for life so they wouldn't mind giving bit extra.

Throw in the cap dumps that you mentioned earlier, Carlo and some 1sts.

If there are 3 1sts I'd take it unless another team offers more.
