With all that cap space, you actually diminish the teams C depth.

Kind of a lateral move to move out one C with term for another. We have Defensive pieces to substitute.

how? Dvorak takes stromes place as a younger 2c with panarin and goodrow is a center who wins almost 50% of his draws. Dvorak is a good player that may flourish with panarin

Moving out a 3C to get a 2C? an actual 2C with Goodrow as 3C, thats a pretty good center set up in my opinion. Strome is not good in the center circle and neither is Chytil which is why they would probably move him to the wing because Goodrow is a better center than him. Dvorak is a great 2-way forward that can score and produce.

Yah i get that but if they were to trade for Dvorak, it would probably take Chytil which would mean they get a legit center in return. Chytil is not great in the center circle. GEO is just a part of it because Arizona's goalies are on their way out.

You went from having a clear 1C (Zibanejad) and 3 3C (Goodrow, Strome, Chytil) quality centers to two 3C (Goodrow and Dvorak). Don't get me wrong I think Rangers trading for Dvorak would be great but if you do make that trade, you don't move Strome until the deadline (depending on playoff contention), have Goodrow center your 4th line and move Chytil to 3RW.

Arizona needs a goalie, the trade should most likely focus around Georgiev instead of a center to replace Dvorak in the Yotes lineup

I agree that Goodrow and Dvorak are 3C's on a Center Depth team (like Tampa, just using them since Goodrow was a 3C there). If the Rangers wait till the deadline to get rid of him, they may not get what they want for him because its a cap dump? But it could be right and go the other way that a team over prices him and spends more to get him. I would rather sell him now while his potential is there because if he doesn't have a great season, then getting rid of him can be an issue.

Goodrow wasn't the 3C on Tampa, Gourde was. Goodrow played the 3LW in Tampa but can also play center... A Strome deal at the deadline would NOT be a cap dump. Strome will be UFA at the end of this upcoming season a trade at the deadline would be selling him off at the price of a rental. There is no reason to sell on him now unless you are using him to get a objectively better center to play 2C. Worse possible outcome is you hold onto him try to make a playoff run and lose him for nothing in free agency.

The both of them were 3C's Goodrow took more draws throughout the year. I have proof but its off a website my team and I use for video. Also, I didn't mean to say cap dump, but I am afraid that he will not have a good year or a year up to the standards of how he has been playing and it diminishes his value. This team won't make a playoff run unless the young guys step up big time. The D are super young still so there won't be anything besides a quick exit for this team if they do make playoffs.

If Strome has a bad year then the Rangers hold onto him and try to resign him for a team-friendly deal. And yes this team is young but I still think they can make a solid push
