Replace Strome with a guy like Kratzov and that’s a legitimate offer

Arguably one piece heavy with Kakko involved. Still, in the realm of reasonable so nice work. Better than 99% of Ranger fan proposals.

Yeah I don’t want him with the neck injury. If he was fully healthy than sure, but the neck is a concern to me. Like why can’t we simply role with what we got for one more year? See if Chytil can step up and if not make a play for a free agent center next year or trade for someone like Dvorak who is a 2C and won’t cost nearly as much. Mika, Dvorak, Chytil and Barron/ Goodrow could be quite good down the middle. There’d be tons of winger support with high end skill and grinding two way types. We’d keep all our young d prospects to supplement the d core as we’ll need to with Fox’s big extension after next season. Our team is dumb young and still developing and we could possibly fight for a wild card spot as presently constructed. Another year of development and a new 2C and we could start contending.

I think it’s a fair trade. Honestly, I don’t get why people think he’ll be cheap because he’s hurt right now- He’s a top 10 C in the league at 24 signed to 5 more years. He’s almost a point per game on the Buffalo Sabres - if he’s the entire team in Buffalo, it should take an entire team’s future to get him. If he’s a 90-100 points player on some other team, that’s 450-500 points that you’re going to have to replace. He IS a top player in the league, it’s going to take more than a ‘he COULD turn into something’ prospects to get him.

Yeah, I just assume Buffalo is gonna have to take back at least some money to make an Eichel trade work

As a Buffalo fan this is pretty good, don't really want Strome, if you kept him and replaced with Kravtsov I'd probably accept

Yeah that’s true. They might even have to retain on Eichel cause the amount of buyers is going down. This probably the best mock trade I’ve seen for Eichel though

Don’t get me wrong, I think this is currently the safer option for New York, I’m just doing this to see what people think of the value. It’s almost impossible to make fans of both teams happy in these. They do have a lot of young talent and it’s going to be fun watching them once they are all in their primes. I understand the concerns about his health, but assuming he is cleared, if you have as many assets as the rangers do, and can trade for a top 10 center, you should probably do it.

This is the kind of trade that ensures we stay mediocre and don’t improve.

Yeah I would not do that for anyone. One player does not equal playoffs or cup. A team does. I’m in favor of forgetting Eichel and signing someone like Trochek, Kadri or Malkin next offseason or trading for Dvorak. Let someone else mortgage the farm for him.

For the MN trade, the 2nd would need to be dropped. I understand there’s retention but that’s less important since Stromes has 1 year left. We won’t overpay for him. Beckman and the 4th would be the package. Or a 3rd + 5th, whichever you prefer.
