Goodbye Kane, thanks for making is impossible to keep you on the team!!! What a waste of elite talent,
With the Kane's issues potentialy destroying our ability to compete this season we have two choices,
1. stay with our current lineup and bank on the kids make a jump this season... for the 3rd season in a row... this could cause frustration with fans and the owner as well as our aging vets.
2. trade some assets for a quick fix.
in this post I have #2 option.
I know sharks are in on Dvorak and Kessel is a consolation prize to fill out RW depth.
Kessel wants Las Vegas but there capped out so tats not an ideal option.
San Jose would compete with both Dvorak and Kessel here. we give up promising LW Leonard (this one hurts as I see him as top 6 winger in 1-2 years) Blichfeld who will be a solid middle 6 but we don't have a spot for him now or in the future, and Simek who is a solid LD who will give Arizona top 4 min in a stay at home D roll, (we give him up cause no one wants vlasic) and 2 picks. we may have to add a little but I feel this is fair....
Ok I am hoping this is fair... though I think I have to add Brandon Coe to make this more legit.
if we can make this happen it puts everyone in a role they are more comfortable in.
couture will be stronger next to Hertl and Kessel making a legit 1st line for us.
Dvorak will be the solid 2 way 2nd line center who can support Meir and Labanc and allow them to rebound this year.
Barabanov and Balcers are better suited with a 3rd line roll and with Bonio as their C this will be a strong line.
4th line is stronger With Gambrell in a roll better suited for him with Cogliano supporting him and either Merkley or Nieto on any given night.
now players line Noah, Chekovich chmevelski and Dahlin will have to fight like dogs to get a spot instead of being pushed into a role they are not ready for.
on D we add Vatanen to replace Simek in hope he can revive his career but Merkley, Pashinuk, kinazev, & Meloche are in the wings if he doesn't have a good camp.
this team should be able to compete for a playoff spot! if not we trade everyone we can for picks at the deadline.

Kane was by far your best player last year lol.
If he bet on games it for sure wasn't against the sharks, because he played incredibly well
Getting rid of him weakens your team A LOT.

No that's not what I said. actually it was the opposite, last year Kane was the only reason we were competitive! but Kane's off ice and locker room issues have all but locked him to be either let go or suspended before the season starts.
I would prefer if all this is determined to be lies by his ex and he plays next season.... but with the past issues and the problems with attitude and gambling that he had even before his wife's twitter post I find it really hard not to believe her. the problem isn't Kane's ability on the ice, its the the issue if the person off it. Like I said "what a waste of elite talent"

yea I have a feeling your right, that's why I posted maybe we have to add Brandon Coe who to me is untouchable but might be necessary, and that and maybe an upgrade of one of the picks as well.

not arguing, most nights he was the best player on the ice and it wasn't close....
But... If you watched the sharks the first 10 games he took an extraordinarily high number of bad penalties at bad moments in the game, which would align with what his wife posted and why I think she might not be lying.

I clearly state that I'm upset and that Kane not being on the team destroys what chances we had to compete with the roster we have today.

"by far" is an overstatement. Hertl was .86 points per game last year before injury while also taking more dzone starts than offensive zone. Thanks for the shortsighted comment like everyone else on here speaking out of your arse. Do some research.

Kane was a huge plus on the ice last year as was Hertl but I would say throughout the season Kane was more consistent (Hertl looked injured when he came back and wasn't as productive)

Not sure what you mean about Hertl, considering he played his absolute best towards the end of the season when he put up 14 points in the final 10 games

I watched all those games he didn't look awesome, but my eyes could have just been judgmental. either way its 1,2 or 2,1 both were clearly better than the rest of the team
the only other guys who carried their own weight and them some were Ferraro and Knyzohv, maybe Gambrell considering what was expected vs what we got.
