Oilers Future Is BRIGHT

Description
Oilers have such a bright future and I don't think people really understand. They have the most underrated prospect pool in the league. The forward depth is unreal. That 4th line will be dangerous. The defense will be deadly, especially if we move Ceci by then. Future is bright for Oilers goaltending. Skinner and Konovalov could be an amazing young goalie tandem.

The contracts are estimates. People will probably be moved and what not. But this is what it will roughly look like if the Cap goes up 2M from now (which will most likely happen).

Agreed. If we had a decent GM it would be something like this. But with Holland he'll sign a 4th liner to a 5x5 contract.

LMAO I wasn't even thinking about that since I'm talking to a Nucks fan. Plus Holland did the same with Neal. Both are horrible GM's.

Yep. We are so lucky that the worst signing this year was Tucker Poolman 2.5x4. We did take on the OEL contract though…

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of that OEL and Garland trade. Garland is a great addition but the Yotes GM is a smart man taking all those 1year contracts for picks. Hopefully OEL can bounce back because that money and term isn't ideal.

Canucks got the 2 best players in that deal. The contract is no good at all it wouldn’t be a Canucks offseason without Jim Benning adding a bad contract to the team.

Depends. If Nurse keeps trending upwards with his improvement he could be worth 8-8.5M. Hyman deal I don't mind. Yes an injury could happen but that's what LTIR is for. Plus he's riding shotgun with McDavid.

the defenseman market is increasing, in a couple years all top end defenseman (top 15-10ish) defenseman will be getting 10 mil signings, like fox and chychrun soon. And he is only 1.5 mil overpaid, so their future can't be doomed by a 1.5 mil overpay, or in the future not an overpay at all.

Oilers haven't not had a first round pick in a a while, their prospect pool is fine, who told u it wasn't, its definitely in the better half, and the nurse contract is a 1.5 mil overpay for now, but in the future when more defenseman are getting paid a lot of money it could be perfectly fine

Neal was signed by Calgary in 2018, Ken Holland had NOTHING to do with it. He worked for Detroit Red Wings at the time.

The way I look at the Nurse deal is this: the cap is slated to go up by $1M next year, they gave it all to Darnell. Which makes some sense as he was the only core guy not already under contract for next season.
