This is literally the least amount of cap space I've seen left

IMO nothing is worth retaining 3 mill for 5 more year but that could be me as I hate dead cap when looking at rosters

I just don't think this trade really makes the oilers better. You'd be better off giving up all those assets for someone like demko or hellebuck. or give up half that for Varlomov possibly of kakkonen

If you're going to give up so much draft capital offer sheet Peterson

This team is done when Nurse's 9.5 kicks in

Edmonton would have to be very drunk to do either trade. Both make the team worse in the medium- and long-term. They'd probably be better in year 1, but not after that.

No way Edmonton gives up their future (Holloway, Yamamoto, Broberg) and a 1st and 2 2nds for Eichel. Even with $3M retained he'd be an good, but very overpriced third line centre (McDavid - 1st; Draisaitl - 2nd)
