    Same Caphit.

    Same AAV

Only difference is that it's for 1 year instead of two.

Coming from Carolina, this is obviously done out of spite for when Marc Bergevin offersheeted Sebastian Aho.

Good luck coming up with the cap space.

And good luck for next season, because that's going to be his qualifying offer next year :D

The good move would be to take the picks and run... Then have Weber on LTIR and trade for a center with the Canes or their 1st pick.. 6.1 for KK is highly overpaid. He's 2.5-3M.. they would've never have gotten a 1st pick for him last year. Waddel is off his rockers..

          100% agree

If by "successfully rooked" means putting your team in a bind out of spite by overpaying for a 3rd center, losing a 1st and 3rd then going over the cap hit then yes, I guess he did.

At least Habs had the cap space and were getting a first centerman for the Aho offer. Yes, they were losing lots of 1st picks but a first center like Aho was worth the risk.. Waddel is over paying by 3M$ plus his 1st.. ouch

Even then, if Bergevin wants to really keep KK, he just moves Weber on the LTIR for the rest of the season and he has plenty of space.. oh.. and for like, one year...

          1. Until all the contracts come up and Bergevin has the decision to qualify....

          2. Trochek's deal ends at season's end. I say Waddell is thinking ahead. Qualify and sign a long tern deal at roughly the same amount takes him.to 30. Me thinks Gardiner is moved to make room.....

          3. A 1st and 3rd for a 21 year old with KK's upside is a bargain in many circles..... His performance to date can be highlighted, and the fact that if the offer sheet wasn't there, he gets a $3 million bridge deal. But...... his upside is fantastic. We all know it. If it wasn't there, he NEVER would have been penciled in as Montréal 2C. And HE WAS. Otherwise Danault is still an Hab, making that very $6 million......

          Therefore, yes, Waddell rooked Bergevin.

Nope, I don’t know how you see it that way. 1st and a 3rd for a bottom 6 centre making 6m is Waddell pissing into the wind.

KK is a 21 year old with tremendous upside.... evidence was his solid playoff performance. That's how I see it. Otherwise (as mentioned), Habs resign Danault......
