If we think we can’t re-sign Trocheck and decide to trade him, we could get a lot more than that assuming he has a similar season to last year.

Big pass from Canes. If habs don’t match KK likely plays on the wing on second line and if he plays well that gives them leverage next offseason with Troch. If not they likely extend Troch or find another 2C. It’s not worth taking a risk on Debrusk and putting that much pressure on KK to fill 2C when Troch is perfect there.

Canes decline. Have to add more than a pile of spare parts to Debrusk to get VT.

Plus, why would we want to help the team that has been a thorn in our side ever since the Whalers came into the league. Plus there is that whole rivalry thing. Yeah, canes pass just from that. But that pile of junk for Trocheck, yeah hard pass.

It's basically DeBrusk who just had a down year for Trocheck who had a great year, this isn't close.
