Please stop. Take some time to learn some facts before you make this. The Canucks can match so easily lol

NJ would be asking for 3rd rd picks. Not trading them. A guy gets waived three (3) times and goes unclaimed costs to move....

The only possibility is the Leafs trading a 3rd for Byron. No other team wanted him for free...

if vancouver runs the minimum 23 man roster they are left with $17,964,341 to sign both hughes and pettersson. If a pettersson OS comes in at around 11.5-12 do you really think youre getting hughes at 6-6.5? idk about that. Hughes minimum gets 8 unless you bridge him, then youll just be in the same position in 2 years where he likely gets 10-11

You mean the minimum 20 man roster? 23 is the MAXIMUM. They gonna run a 22 man roster easily. Hughes has no leverage to get anymore than the Canucks offer him. Please fact check

i meant to say 20, but the cap number is the same my fault. if they run 22 they have 1.5 less. so that number comes in around 15M. Pettersson OS at 11.5 completely messes with the canucks cap and is absolutely worth it

I think Montreal would be better off going for Eichel at this point, he'd cost less with his injury and missing the start of the season.

Nah we have Ferland going into LTIR which frees up 3.5 million. Fact check please. It’s not worth it it just makes GMs hate you and yesterday showed the consequences of that

so say its a 2 year bridge, all within 2 years youre gonna have boeser, horvat, miller, hughes (again) , hoglander and rathbone expiring, likely all getting significant raises. Wheres the cap gonna come from?

yes the Cap $ takes into consideration the Ferland LTIR. Canucks have about $15M to sign Both of them even with a 20 man roster

I just made an ACGM below. Check it out. I already showed the Canucks matching an Offersheet for 10+ mil

Well most teams don’t want to offer for the max compensation. They’ll most likely do it so they don’t have to give up 4 first round picks in the unlikely case that the Nucks don’t match

i would personally give up 4 firsts for pettersson without a doubt, i dont know if NHL GMs feel the same but the probability of getting a player like with all 4 firsts is slim, pettersson is the type of player that will alter your franchise for 10+ years. Reminds me of Datsyuk.

Precisely why the Canucks aren’t gonna let him get away that easily…

i wouldnt say its no problem, Horvat probably gets 7.5, Hoglander will get 6.5-7 if he breaks out which i think he will, hughes out of a bridge probably gets 10-11, Boeser 7-7.5, Miller 7.5-8. Its not as easy as you think it is

if he gets OS for 11.5-12 i personally dont think the nucks can match without messing their cap situation for years but i guess we will see

The Habs are no better off. Remember, Suzuki, Romanov, and Caufield aren’t staying on ELC forever
