    No, this move has nothing to do with Jordo. This is just to stab back at Montreal, and add a player with a WHOLE lot of potential

    Idk about that. Trocheck's contract matches his role/production. Staal, while captain, could become a 3LW by season's end would be extremely overpaid for the role...and I don't think Dundon would like that too much.

    Trocheck could walk, and if he was going anywhere besides CAR, it would be PIT. He would probably tame PIT's offer if it was the same as CAR's

    Staal isn’t getting moved to wing, he’s the least likely candidate. He’s our best FO guy and shutdown pivot.

    Yep. I think this move was about insurance and leverage for Troch potentially leaving next offseason. Doesn’t have anything to do with Staal.

    Staal averaged more ice time than Trocheck but both were over 18min TOI.
