Edmontons best contract is McDavid. TO's is Matthews. When you have a top 3 player or best player in the world. Whatever they make is money well spent.

I was more so going for lower numbers. Yes they are both worth their contracts, but the ones I put are more so the type where I'd go "Wow you got them for that cheap?" instead of "yeah they're worth that"

I guess because of the term left I would go with Pelech or Beau. I think Pelech/Beau will provide more excess value on their deals.

McDavid is "Wow you got them for that cheap". He is incredibly underpaid and he is worth more than the max AAV a player can be signed for. Vancouver's Garland. Bruins one is Marchand.

I still think Drai is more so. but that's just my opinion.

Garland I'd like to see play in vancouver before I'd give him that status, and While I agree marchand is a great candidate, his age/contract ruled it out for me

Pastrnak is UFA in two seasons. Marchand has two more years and he is arguably the best winger in the game. Even if he slows down, he'll still be worth $6.125M. There will more positive surplus value out of his contract than Pastrnak.

With 4 years left, there is far more risk for Marchand falling off meaning the contract could turn into a bad one. With Pastrnak's there is almost no risk.

Also I like Marchand as a player, but idk that it could be argued that he's the best winger in the game. Maybe

He is right. Terry is one of the most underrated players in the league. The main reason is that his point production hasn't been that good yet. But apart from that he's been a Top 6 RW. His biggest strengths are his transition game and his defensive abilities imo. He has a good hockey IQ and vision and is a good passer as well.
