Dammit I was going to see pretty much that same thing!! This is one of the more "interesting" ones I've seen.

Tor def needs his grit and big game experience. Plus option to sign him to a long term team friendly deal after Cup win this season.

So you think the answer is a $9mil 3rd pairing defenseman with a hard slap shot for a scoring winger on a semi-team friendly deal and a first round pick? I'd rather give Sandin a shot to run the PP.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take Subban at the deadline with 50% retention, but the cost is going to be too high. Leafs can't afford to trade firsts / seconds in the next 2 drafts, and I wouldn't give up any of our A prospects for a guy who is now pretty much a depth player. and as for big game experience, he doesn't have much of that at a professional level.

OK, I'll concede that, but how about "Isn't the defenseman he used to be, and contract to performance ratio is way out of whack". Also, when Ruff is congratulating him for not being a -3 after a game, I think that says all we need to know LOL

Contract to performance ratio is also true but could be changed with retention or double retention.
Ruff congratulating Subban after a 0 plus-minus game was a joke. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously

I wouldn't do Engvall straight up for PK at this point
