It will be in interesting with the copp situation, in his interview it was brought up that they started out with a negotiation of a 4 or 5 year deal, then the dmen came to town and ate up the cap. I wonder if Dillon is on the move again, with the cheaper demelo contract sticking around. Always good to have competitions and battles for spots, but don’t want to let the prospects grow stale on the farm either.

Agreed. Copp just seems like he wants to test Free Agency. Ive been thinking tho, it’s really tough for Heinola to crack this roster and Samberg will be a great defender cuz of his size and everything , same with Stanley. How about flipping Heinola for Denisenko? Seems like a good swap for both teams

I’m worried about Wheeler turning into a 3rd line minutes, with a pp specialist, so would love to find a physical top 6 forward that initiates contact in the grey areas around the net and takes on the monsters of the playoffs. Teams winning the cup have had a couple large physical angry dman and rather large forward or two. Adding Dillon and Schmidt answers a couple of those questions. But still a need for a freight train or two up front. I still think the most effective window is next 2/3 years with a lot of turn over coming so I would get over any prospect sales.

I totally agree here, they should be pushing for the cup the next 2-3 years . Trade any prospect not named Perfetti and any picks

I’m a little afraid of Minnesota wild and there past loyalty approach, coming into effect in Winnipeg, I would rather have a Tb rays approach and take runs every 4/5 years over having career Jets, career Jets sell a lot of jerseys and have nostalgic nights later, but I just want a cup and a parade and nothing else. Maybe a few, but one can’t be greedy lol

It was dumb to sign Copp to a one year and bring in two dmen to block Heinola and Samberg, Copp should've been moved for one dman, likely to Seattle for one of the dmen they picked in the expansion draft and then Appleton could've been kept.

I agree, I still feel like there is one more move to make it all make sense, damn I hate that Wheeler contract, it would be so much better if he was on the stastny program and bringing him back on cheaper and cheaper one year deals. I’m happy about where this team is, but cap issues and goaltending depth are going to be an issue, I also hate the roadblocks set up in front of heinola, hopefully he forces them to keep him around and puts on a show.
