The leafs just don't have enough of a need right now to pay that kind of price for Rakell.

Now if none of the offseason shots they took work for top 6 lw, or if Nylander or marner go down for a long term, sure they may revisit it. But for now it's just too rich for something that's not a pressing need.

Leafs don't have the cap for Rakell or probably no desire either. Is Manson the difference maker now? Gotta think Tampa holds on to cheap and competent Foote.

With Seattle now a team, trades involving 1st round picks will now go back to being for guys with term as there is no risk of losing the guy to the expansion for free.

So unless Rakell comes with an extension its gonna be a no from us.
