Is this Dominique Ducharme’s burner account?

Staal/Paquette aren’t better than Poehling and Gustafsson certainly isn’t better than Romanov.

Poehling and Romanov need to play big minutes. Laval is the best place for that. They don't need to be rush.

I say HELL NO on both accounts, Staal was just awful last season but did step it up in the playoffs so maybe at the deadline sign him for depth but not right now.

Poehling did play big minutes last year and dominated. There is absolutely nothing that he can prove in the AHL anymore. He’s a 1st round pick and it’s been 4 years since he was drafted. He certainly won’t be rushed.

Romanov is already our 5th best defenseman. If you give him the PP time that you’re trying to give to Gustafsson, and pair him with Savard, he’ll be playing top 4 minutes. Romanov is way ahead of the AHL, and isn’t far away from being a top 4 NHL D in his own right.

How does Romanov not make the team, he was a great D last year, we also don't need Staal as Suzuki, Dvorak, Evans, Poehling, Paquette is good center depth

I say yes to Staal and assume he'll get replaced mid-season by Poehling, who I would send down to be the number 1 centre in Laval to start the year and bring him up once he gets back to his groove after an injury ended his last season. If not Staal, maybe Zajac, again for the league minimum? Gustafson is no though, Romanov is definitely ready for full time top 6 NHL minutes.

You would know better than I but I could see Poehling not making the lineup.

Romanov on the other hand... I agree not a chance he isn't on the opening night roster.
