Pens trade Sens

Created by: LetsGoPens69
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2021
Published: Sep. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Until Sid and Geno come back; although I think Sid will be back for season opener. They say he’s only gonna miss a week at current timeline. But Sid is a workout warrior. He’ll train properly after surgery and be back at or alittle before that initial/current timeline.

Josh Brown is an UFA after this season; so he’s a 1 year rental.

After Sid comes back.

Guentzel/Sid/Rust
Zucker/Carter/Kappy
Zohorna/L. Brown/Heinen
ZAR/Blueger/McGinn (like last season, this line plays closer to 3L minutes).

Why do Pens fans think Ottawa needs Pettersson? The Sens have Chabot, Brannstrom, Mete, Del Zotto, Holden and Sanderson coming at the end of the season.

Cause Sens were one of the teams that article’s say the Pens have talked to and had interest in Pettersson.

It’s why they signed DeZotto. They arnt gonna give Brannstrom 2 pairing minutes. He’s not ready defensively from what I read.

And Mete plays RHD, his offside I thought. And I would imagine Sens coach/organization feels the same about giving him critical minutes b/c of his D too.

Maybe Sanderson wins a spot or gets called up
during season but probably will be more likely next season.

I guess Holden can be a stop gap but he’s not gonna be there after this season.

Probably most have come reading that article though. Sens having cap space and Petterson at 25(contract ends at 29 years old; 3 years after this season) is in the Sens window of when they should be competitive.

Can Pettersson be effective on RD? If not Ottawa has no need for him at all

Sanderson is not about winning a spot or not, he's coming right after his college season and will never look back.

Chabot
Sanderson

You're talking about 50 minutes of quality 2-way hockey

There's already Erik Brannstrom who won't be able to find his niche in Ottawa because of that (will most likely be traded) and there's also Tyler Kleven who the organization is extremely high on

I'm kinda hope Mete will be the guy on that 3rd pairing. His skating really is an asset, he's young, cheap and can play RD

Ya, I’m a Sanderson fan man. I think he’s gonna have a better career than Drysdale. No need to rush anyone until the team starts being competitive. If Sanderson is given a spot right after his NCAA season then great. The organization will do what’s best for him and the team. If that’s their plan and what happens then I trust they know what they r doing.

Sens have a lot of good young players/prospects though. I hope it comes together. And Kleven is only 19 too. Sens fans arnt gonna see him for atleast 2-3 more years.

I agree about Brannstrom. And Mete is the same for me too. I’m not a fan of the tiny offensive D-man. Their isn’t a ton of them that can do it and play legit 1st or 2nd pairing minutes. Krug and Grzelcyk do it well, but I still wouldnt want them on my team/or the team I rout for. If I was a Sens fan, I’d be ecstatic if they traded brannstrom.

Mete as a 7th-8th D-man..great. Plays when an injury happens or a guy gets a rest. I guess we’ll see though. I wouldn’t want the Pens to touch Mete, Ghoustisbhere, or DeAngello if they cost nothing though. There are better options out there imo.

.00000000000000000000000001% of these trades would even be discussed by GM’s/coaches let alone happen. They are just ideas from fans. I like to hear everyone opinions but some people on here take it way to serious..lol.

This % is not realistic, there's actually a lot more chances that trades involving some of these players are discussed. Most of the names thrown around are being discussed for real. Tarasenko for example has been discussed among GMs for a while. Tkachuk, probably not, but you can be sure some teams have inquired about him

Yes, some proposals are not realistic because the average/casual fan doesn't know about players' value or what a fair AAV according to market would be, but many times, I see some pretty fair/realistic proposals.

And it's not about taking seriously or not, it's about learning and gathering information. Like my post you quoted was, informative.
