Boeser

Description
The Canucks have to pay Pettersson and Hughes. An article on The Athletic has an article titled "NHL Trade Big Board" in which they cite several possible trade bate players from all over the league due to various circumstances that each individual team is in or will be in. Boeser was listed as a LOW chance of being traded. But being that they have to pay Pettersson and Hughes, he might be their best chance of freeing up some space and getting a decent return. So being a Hawks fan (somewhat reluctantly due to all the controversy surrounding the organization) I figured I would see how this could possibly work for them. In my opinion, an upgrade on the RW would be welcome. And he could possibly be an affordable longer term piece for the club after the next couple of seasons as cap space free's up a bit for Chicago.

What I am not sure about is how a trade between these two clubs would work. So, I'll just slap together something for now and further discussion and suggestions are welcome.

lmaooooooooooo no way in hell

Honest question, let’s say Hughes and Pettey get massive contracts, you don’t think Boeser is a trade candidate next summer? He will likely ask for 9+ mill

So just an FYI about Debrincat's contract. His qualifying offer is $9M once this current deal is up.

Seriously... I can't find anything like that. But my browser has been weird lately after changing some privacy settings. So it's possible some of the functions of the calculator tools on here are just not even loading.

How do I find that information? Does that mean that is the absolute minimum AAV he will make on his next contract?

his QO is 9m because he has a backloaded contract, and that’s the actual salary he’s earning in the final year of his current deal. that’s not the minimum, they could sign him for whatever if he agrees to it. but if the hawks let’s say give him an offer he hates, he can just take the qualifying offer for a year, and they have to sign him for that, trade him, or take him to arbitration. otherwise, they can decline to qualify him and he’d become a UFA early, which they won’t do.

He won't get 9mil unless he puts up 100 points this year which is very unlikely. He's looking at 7-7.5ish which is very doable

I think there’s 0 chance he comes under 8-8.5

@Lovie_Smith

So I way actually wrong about this previous post. I was reading the CBA this morning and The Qualifying Offer changed in July. Qualifying Offers are now...

"For SPCs signed after the date of this agreement, if the minimum Paragraph 1 NHL Salary portion of a Player’s Qualifying Offer would otherwise be greater than 120% of the Averaged Amount of the SPC, the minimum Paragraph 1 NHL Salary portion of the Qualifying Offer will instead be 120% of the Averaged Amount.

For example, if a Player has a 3 year SPC with Paragraph 1 NHL Salaries of $3.0 million in Year 1, $6.0 million in Year 2, and $9.0 million in Year 3, the minimum Paragraph 1 NHL Salary portion of the Qualifying Offer will be $7.2 million. If, however, such Player’s 3 year SPC had Paragraph 1 NHL Salaries of $5.0 million in Year 1, $6.0 million in Year 2, and $7.0 million in Year 3, the minimum Paragraph 1 NHL Salary portion of the Qualifying Offer will be $7.0 million. "
Page 26 of the https://www.nhlpa.com/the-pa/cba

So, Debrincat's Qualifying Offer is 120% the average...SO.... ( $1.1M + $5.1M + $9M ) / 3 * 120% = $6.08M
