Skjei isn’t a cap dump

Gardiner will not play this season due to back surgery

Fast and Donskoi are basically the same player, except Fast makes 50% less

Both trades work on zero level for the Canes

We payed a 1st for Skjei when he was terrible for the rangers. Now that he has been exceptional for us, he draws a 1st plus a 3rd or a b prospect.

None of those trades make sense for the Canes and the value is lopsided in both.

Gardiner is also out for the year so you’ve created a gap by trading Skjei away for scraps.
