I think you have a couple of mistakes here.

1. Since Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson are together for the preseason they will likely start the season together.
2. Edmundson-Petry are not being split up
3. Ducharme already said Romanov will play on the left side and since Chiarot is playing the right side one would assume the 2nd pairing will be Romanov-Savard and the 3rd pairing will be one of Kulak\Wideman\Norlinder\Ghule with Chiarot

Im always amazed at the people who put Poehling over Evans.

Evans proved he could play on the top line during NHL playoffs. Poehling proved he could play top line during AHL regular season.

i put poehling "ahead" of evans because evans should be placed in defensive matchups as much as possible and needs certain wingers that play that same game i.e. armia and Lecky, whether that it the 3rd line or 4th line is irrlevant they will be getting roughly the same ice time anyways. So i think its less about which line is 3rd and whcih is 4th and more than Evans will have defensive minded wingers and Poehling will benefit from more offensive minded ones like hoffman and anderson. After the success of the 4th line throughout the playoffs i think mtl will try and recreate that with lecky-evans-armia.

Sorry but this is BS. The 3rd does play more than the 4th. I think you know they can't be switched because you would never put Hoffman and Anderson on a 4th line. I dare you 👍

You give more talented wingers and ice time to Poehling than Evans which, coming back to my first comment, doesn't make sense for me.

Evans will be used heavily on the pk so even if he was used less in 5 on 5 situations over Poehling he would still log more ice time on a nightly basis so no its not BS. and if you go look out ice time on a given night for the habs for most of last year especially the playoff you wouldnt be able to pick out the 3rd and 4th lines based solely on ice time. And even aside from all of that i would still put poehling on that third line over the 4th regardless, let each player play to their strengths. Poehling offensive ceiling is much higher than evans and i dont see how any one can argue that.

And the experience you are referring too for Evans was spent mainly at RW

Actually Poehling's best season in college was 31 points (twice) Evans was 46 points and he eclipsed 40 twice. Also look at their points in Laval. Evans played 2 years in Laval and had 45 and 38 point seasons. Poehling also played 2 seasons in Laval (albeit shortened seasons) but never eclipsed 30 points. All this to say that Evans's offensive talents are criminally underrated.

I don't consider it putting Poehling over Evans. The 3rd line to me is more of a flexible line.
Your top 6 are your 5v5 lines.
4th line is your primary defensive line.
3rd can be where you put players that need sheltering or favorable matchups, and "hide" your PP specialists or form a makeshift line to give others time to recover from special teams.

That's fairly conventional for showing lineups, though there are alternatives. It doesn't have to mean a player on the 3rd line is better than a player on the 4th.
You could put Hoffman - Poehling - Anderson as the 4th, but the "4th line" is widely acknowledged as one who's primary responsibility is a shut down role to give the top lines time to recuperate.
