I’d be cool with this if I were CBJ. Both first rounders are likely to be late, but that’s fine. Nothing wrong with rolling the dice on Brown, who worst case scenario could be a depth C. It’d allow Jenner to move back to the wing, which is where I think he’s better off.

That being said, CBJ would probably be doing some retaining on Laine, and Mayfield, possibly more on Tarasenko.

Tarasenko doesnt get a 1st even with 50% retention (3.75). So 1.5 doesnt get a 1st 2nd and a top 4 dman on a great contract.

There is too much coming from STL in the initial swap, but I like the idea. It all hinges on how Laine bounces back this year, but if he’s playing well enough to garner that value, I think they would probably want to hang on to him.
