Description

Benning has been after Subban ever since he became GM of the Canucks. Heck he's been fined for tampering in Subban talks! As for Hamonic, Friedman has been quoted saying that Hamonic wants to be traded out of VAN and some team are interested, but are being careful with this vaccination status.

One team that has an unvaccinated player, and he's a key one, on their roster is the New Jersey Devils with Blackwood. Could be a potential fit here in a trade, but would make the cap tight on the Canucks side.

I know this doesn't look like a fit for VAN with a defensive pool that already contains four offensive defenseman in Hughes, OEL, Rathbone, and Myers, but Benning has done wilder things.

Don't like to get specific with what would be going both ways because I don't know that part and don't want to make that the focus of the trade.

Pretty good thought on the trade. Biggest issue IMO is whether any team thinks Hamonic is worth 3m X 3.

The issue is that there might only be a handful of teams that are willing to trade for him. If we are looking at the teams that are okay with guys not being vaccinated but playing then (if I'm not missing anyone else) it's only the Devils and Red Wings. Devils are an up and coming team and he could see some duties of working with another Hughes brother in the future/being a steady man on the right side.

It is just 3M x 2 years, but I definitely see where you are coming from!

Not a big fan of this since we already do 4 offesnive Dman on the team i feel it would create such huge unbalance having poolman as the only defesive dman

An interesting idea.
Maybe Vancouver adds a small piece (like a Justin Bailey or late pick) just to make up the possible GP difference.
