None of this is big brain. Calgary is cash-strapped, but you're giving them Ferland without any incentive. Same goes for Columbus. They just perma-benched a player because he wouldn't get vaxxed, so if the rumors about Hamonic are true, they're not gonna want him at all, and even less if they have to give up a fourth too. Cernak is one of Tampas best D at just 24 years old. Last year, he may have arguably been the best D due to Hedman's down year. So they're not gonna give him up for what could wind up being nothing. Not when they're trying to compete NOW. Idek what the thought process is behind that Devils trade is. You're somehow both overpaying them in picks and Woo, but also not paying them enough to give up a player they probably don't want to trade.
