Description

If I was in charge of making Team Canada roster's for the 2022 beijing Olympic. The Goal is to win gold and prepare the 2026 olympic tournament. The Roster consist of 14 forward (13 dressed), 8 Defensement (7 on the bench) & 3 goaltender (all 3 goalie will play in the tournament). Captain will be Crosby with McDavid and Pietrangelo will be alternate.

MISS THE CUT

Goalie: Hart (PHI), Kuemper (COL), Blackwood (NJ) & Driedger (SEA) are on the watch if any of the goalie are injured or doesn't performed.

Defensement: Hamilton (NJ), Nurse (EDM), Rielly (TOR), Ekblad (FLA), Morrissey (WPG), Dumba (MIN) are in Battle with Chabot (OTT), Pullock (NYI), Muzzin (TOR), Chychrun (ARI) for the last four spot. Their season will impact who will make the team. I prefere to use 1 offensive incline defensement with 1 defensive to balance the mix.

Offense: Marchessault (VGK), Reinhart (FLA), Hall (BOS), Scheifele (WPG) & Suzuki (MTL) are on the run for spot on the lineup in case of injuries or bad performance.

IMO Barzal Scheifle Hamilton and Nurse make the team over Muzzin Tavares Parayko and Horvat, Price misses with injury issues so Kuemper makes the team, Ellis and Pelech being in the "just missed the cut" list

Scheifele is criminally underrated.

Over the last three years he's THIRD in points and sixteenth in goals

He is a reliable left handed d but might not make it. This is just who i would like to see make the team based on performance last year and on the future for team canada. Muzzin is a solid Defensive style D with a solid first pass, good checking, decent speed and has championship experience (2016 World Cup Gold and Stanley Cup Winner.) This Team will need a Muzzin Type of Defensement to help Makar, Chychrun and Chabot.

I don't see Kuemper making the team in case of an injury. I Believe they will prefere one of the three younger goalie to learn because it will be the last olympic for Price & Fleury. In 2010 they had Luongo to Take Over Brodeur and Fleury has a 3rd. in 2014 they had Luongo, Price and Smith. They Always had a Younger goalie in the mix.

I don't doubt his offensive abilities but You can't have 14 offensive forward on the team to win gold you need defensive type of forward. I believe there are better option for the fourth line than scheifele.

But I would prefere for Barzal and Horvat to get experience for the next olympic since Bergeron and maybe other older guy on the roster won't be back. If Stamkos makes the team it will be because Jon Cooper is the head coach to not repeat the Martin St-Louis Vancouver situation. Scheifele could make but I Have Barzal ahead of him because he is faster and I have Horvat ahead of him he really is underated , he is a solid two way player.

Stamkos is a top goal scorer and scorer in general. I understand the importance of two way play but I would not put Barzal ahead of him. The offensive difference is massive.
