The Flames seriously need some better prospects just so the Flames fan base can stop losing their mind over AHL calibre players.
Gawdin is 27% in the faceoff dot, floats when he doesn't have the puck, is behind the play, Gawdin creates literally nothing while on the ice, doesn't fill a role in the bottom 6, plenty of other players play a bottom 6 role better. Dube practiced at C Gawdin isn't worth moving to the wing when other guys do the job better.
You say most likely claimed but what team out there just passed on Petan but would want Gawdin?

It's almost as if you are a bubble NHL'er you don't get to have two bad games before you're not worth a roster spot, he did nothing to improve his stock. Use the years of middling AHL numbers.. As a C on the 4th line he is fine, worth pushing to the wing and holding a roster spot, other guys do it better.
You're other comment about Kylington is exactly why I'm not going to take what you said seriously and the epitome of the Flames need a better pipeline so guys like Kylingotn and Gawdin aren't worthy of a conversation like this.
‘Why Brad’?
I believe there are some troubling issues with this front office the last few years…..mostly reactionary. The Gawdin waiver being a lessor one, and the deteriorating relationship with Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Would you resign with Calgary if you were Johnny? Do you think TKachuk is worth +$9 M per on a long term contract? A very good player but DOES NOT drive the play. It’s too bad but things are cascading against this team.
This front office, and I mean the entire front office should be reviewed and measured on their success of the past 5 years. It’s not pretty. Nor is the mishandling of Bennett who appears to be looking like a star and second line centre on a cup favourite.
Ignoring draft positions, look at Lou on the Island, Bergeron or even Sakic. Confident and proactive in their process and decision making. Right now, this front office performs at the level of the team they have assembled and the hockey community as a whole see it.
