Both Arizona and Kessel decline.

Not enough value in here for the Coyotes.

What would compel Kessel to have Ottawa on his trade list?

Helps the yotes tank and they get younger assets for the future and a front-loaded contract with 1 year left and your divisional rival is paying for part of it?! This is a Melnyk move through and through, I expect it to happen now

I don't really think it makes sense. Ottawa shouldn't be buying a pure rental at that price. It's basically huge gamble in hopes that you're maybe able to get slightly more at the deadline.

Phil Kessel is a 50-60pt player at least and Ottawa needs a guy that can put the puck into the net. I truly think Sens have a shot at the playoffs this year

The Team is looking for a Vet RW that can play with and mentor the young top 6 players. While Kessel does provide offense, he is the Right shot, does he fit the Rolemodel type that Ottawa could use.

Base salary this year is only 1 mill so prorated that is super cheap. As mentioned above it is for extra scoring to help make more of a winning culture and playing meaningful games later in the year and a "Mentor" role to teach the kids how to score. Then Next season another younger play is ready to take that spot in the lineup.

Also we need to trade a D to make room for Brannstrom. This team is lacking mobility on the backend and Chabot is being overused.

We don't need a trade for that just someone to tell DJ to actually play him and get his head out of his ass about Branstrom.

I was at the game yesterday and the drop off between Chabot-Zub and the 2nd pairing was just insane. It’s night and day.

Yah you would think that someone in the Front office would tell DJ, like your not helping the overall team speed and the player development by not playing Mete, Branstromm, even Thompson in the line up right now. IMO Brandstom and mete should be in 2nd pairing and 3rd pairing with one of the other DJ type D to balance them out.

The lineup we had to finish the year was very good last year with both Mete and Brannstrom
