Would this team be any better

Description
Just curious to know what MTL fans on here think of the below team. We would we be any better than our current record? While the lost of Weber and Price are immense, wondering if Danault was still here how the guys would fare.

Additional comments added in the trades section.

Even with Danault staying, we don't match KK offer sheet and still pull the trigger on the Dvorak deal.

I'm showing the roster when everyone is healthy, except for Price. Not sure how long Price will be away. But we assume that he's gone until Christmas, would the team in front of Allen/Montembeault be better than they are this year?

I know Byron isn't coming back until Xmas but wanted to show him on the roster.

Last thing, I realize that next year Suzuki's extension kicks in so keeping Danault may not have worked in my scenario. I just think if Danault had stayed, we are better up the middle and we could sacrifice some wingers to fit under the cap. You'd have to think that Chiarot, Kulak and Lekhonen aren't back. Also maybe Allen is shipped out sooner to have Primeau up in the NHL permanently. Just wanted to create this scenario to see if the lineup below would yield better result. I don't think the current team is a playoff contender but wonder if the one below is?

Who knows....

Danault resigns with Habs at a $4.75M cap hit over 6 or even 7 yrs instead of Kings. I think the move by Phil was about money really. Haven't watched any Kings' games this year but it would seem that Danault is the 2C there as well behind Kopitar, same as what he would be in MTL. And in three years, he'll be 3C. Just think if Bergevin, Danault and Ducharme had sat down to discuss his role, Danault might have taken less than $5M per year to stay in MTL.

We'd be 1-5-1 instead of 1-6... What's the point of phil when we want to get to the basement of the league? Like Price, he keeps us in games that we have no business winning.

Are you a Habs fan? Not sure your comment makes any sense. There is no way that Molson would purposely allow his team to be in the league basement. That wouldn't fly in MTL. The only way that works is if Molson states they're rebuilding. But if that was the case, you're right, Phil wouldn't be there but neither would Drouin, Toffoli, Chiarot and Savard to name a few. We'd have young players who'd get blown out every night.

How does it not make any sense? I'm saying Phil doesn't move the needle. We can't score, he wldnt help us put in more goals. Only thing he'd do is we wldnt be losing games 5-1, it would be 3-2 instead.

I have maintained since the beginning that MB needed to do whatever he could to keep one of Danault or KK. He was right not to pay the prices that ultimately took those 2 off our roster BUT supposedly MB wanted KK at 2.5 mil for 2 years max and KK wanted 3 x 2. Why did MB hold out and force KK out over 500k? There is no logic behind it, he had just let Danault walk, he needed to make sure KK stayed. You can say what you want about the OS and how MB didn't know it was coming or whatever but it is literally his job to know or expect these things especially after DW told him 2 years ago that they would OS one of our young guys, MB's response back then was "that is why you lock up your young guys before anyone gets a chance to OS them". He simply didn't follow his own advice and now the team is paying for his stupidity, again.

No, I think losing Weber/Price is a bigger reason to why the team is starting out so poorly. If they knew that KK was going to leave they may have re-signed Danault but he's not an offensive performer so I doubt the situation would be much different.

Gallagher, Anderson and Petry should be stepping up.

Danault didn't want to resign. Get over it.
